Pizza- Diet Plan: Man Took the Challenge, and Lost 24 Pounds in only 1 Month

Everyone loves a good slice of pizza but most of us see it as a guilty pleasure or necessary comfort food to be eaten in moderation — certainly not to lose weight.

Matt McClellan cyclist from Florida has proven that one can, indeed, lose weight by just consuming pizza.

Matt ate 2,400 calories a day complete with six total slices of pizza, choosing the healthiest toppings, which means less cheese and no sausage or pepperoni for starters. Rather, he opted for lean proteins, veggies rich in antioxidants and healthy fats. He’d consume one slice every two hours.

Exercise was also an intricate part of the diet. Matt made sure to workout for one hour five times a week, switching it up with cycling, swimming and running in totally he has done over 80 hours of on demand workouts.

Four weeks later and Matt had dropped an astonishing 24 pounds. His cholesterol lowered from 243 to 157, and his body fat percentage went from nearly 20 percent to nine percent. He found himself more energized, powering through his rides with better endurance. He also noticed he had a faster recovery time. “The healthier I felt, the more inclined I was to stay active and cycle more,” he said.

Here’s the diet recipe:

Crust: Opt for a thin, whole-wheat crust. “It gives you the fiber you need with some carbs for energy, but without having to worry about overindulging,” Matt said.

Sauce: Mix in chopped garlic and olive oil to marinara sauce. “Garlic is a great immunity-booster and the olive oil is rich with antioxidants.”

Cheese: Keep it light with skim-milk mozzarella. “Less is more. You don’t need a lot for flavor or texture.”

Toppings: Include healthy toppings like lean meats, green veggies and healthy fats.
